Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Scrollscore (“we,” “our,” “us”) governing your use of the Scrollscore mobile app, website, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Scrollscore. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Your account

  • You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You're responsible for all activity under your account, unless you reasonably believe your account has been compromised — in which case, notify us immediately at support@scrollscoreapp.com.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to update it if it changes.
  • One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone.

3. The Service

Scrollscore lets you share daily screen-time totals with friends, track personal habits, join challenges, and receive coaching tips. The Service is provided on an “as-is” basis; we're actively developing it and features may change, launch, or be removed without notice.

4. Your content

You retain all ownership of content you post to Scrollscore (screen-time totals, captions, comments, reactions). By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g. resize images), and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups (up to 30 days) or as required by law.

5. Conduct rules

Don't do any of the following:

  • Post content that's illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that incites violence.
  • Post content that infringes someone else's intellectual property rights.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or data.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the App or Service.
  • Use automation, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service in ways a normal user wouldn't.
  • Scrape or bulk-download data from the Service.
  • Sell, rent, or transfer your account to someone else.
  • Spam other users with unwanted messages, reactions, or follows.

6. Moderation & termination

We may remove content, suspend accounts, or terminate access to the Service at our discretion for violations of these Terms or for conduct we reasonably believe puts other users at risk. Serious violations (threats, CSAM, etc.) will result in immediate termination and may be reported to law enforcement.

You may terminate your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Upon termination, we will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Subscriptions & in-app purchases

Scrollscore is currently free during the beta. If we introduce paid features in the future, prices and terms will be clearly disclosed at the point of purchase and processed by Apple under Apple's standard App Store terms.

8. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party services (Apple, Google, Supabase, Anthropic, Railway, APNs). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We're not responsible for third-party failures or policies.

9. Intellectual property

The Scrollscore name, logo, branding, and all software that powers the Service are our property or licensed to us. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. No other rights are granted.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. SCREEN-TIME DATA SHOWN IN THE APP MAY DIFFER FROM IOS SETTINGS — IT'S FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT MEDICAL, LEGAL, OR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $50 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU'VE PAID US IN THAT PERIOD.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the App or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief to protect intellectual property rights.

15. Miscellaneous

  • If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
  • These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition.
